My decision to become a financial advisor was not a shot in the dark—it was the result of the influence and examples of many different people in my life. It all started back in high school when I discovered my love of numbers and economics in an accounting class. During that time, the father of my then girlfriend was a stockbroker. I got to see firsthand what his day-to-day job looked like and how he made an impact on his clients’ lives. My football coach was also an advisor and I had many conversations with him over the four years he coached me about how he helped people create solutions to their financial needs. All of these experiences sparked something in me that, to this day, I am still deeply passionate about.
The Next Part Of The Journey
Once it was time for me to go to college, I quickly learned I did not want to go the accounting path. I did not want to sit in front of a screen working with numbers all day; I wanted to be with people, interacting with them and building relationships that improve their lives. I gained my love of people and desire to help them from watching my dad, who, as a church minister, did a lot of counseling, problem-solving, and was an important part of many peoples’ lives. As a result, I gravitated toward personal finance and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Marshall University (where I proudly played defensive back for the Thundering Herd football team).
Now, almost 15 years later, I am founder, owner, and wealth manager at Frazie Wealth Management. Currently, I am designated as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), and Professional Plan Consultant® (PPC®). I spend my days working with business owners and professional practitioners in, or nearing, the Retirement Red Zone. My goal as their wealth manager, is to help them understand their life situation, concerns, and dreams so that we can build a road map to get them to their happily ever after. This job has been and continues to be incredibly fulfilling, especially when I get to walk my clients through our tailored process and celebrate with them when they accomplish something they did not think was possible, whether that is retiring comfortably, paying for their grandchildren’s education, or helping their kids buy a house. I consider it a privilege that I get to spend my days helping my clients enjoy their lives more! I come to work every day motivated to give my best, work with excellence, and be faithful with the task God has entrusted to me.
